“The Elementary School is open to all families of children from Early Kindergarten (sometimes called Transitional Kindergarten) through Fifth Grade. We have a rigorous curriculum, focused on Project Based Learning, integrating Science, Technology, Art, Engineering and Math and utilizing our Maker’s Lab in each grade level. We have one-to-one devices and focus on Language Arts and Digital Story Telling to present student research and answer our grade appropriate ‘Driving Questions’. Students learn coding, engage in computer science classes using robotics. We compete with our STEAM TEAMS, in Math Olympics, and with our annual Art Show. Students produce a Christmas Musical each year and we celebrate the end of the year with a Talent and Culture Celebration.
We bring compassion, competence, creativity, and collaboration together as we individualize learning and develop challenging projects for all children. The school week includes music, P.E., computer science and chapel. We believe all truth is God’s truth, and we strive to incorporate character development and Bible truth into our daily lessons, as we celebrate our diversity, our talents and our God.”

Project Based Learning
PBL is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. Click on the link for more information: Steam_PBL brochure
STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math
Science: Students use the scientific method to explore inquiry in life science, physical science, Earth science, and the human body to learn about God’s creation and the scientific laws that humans use to define God’s creation.
Technology: Students make use of technology as a tool in learning. With iPads, iMacs, and devices such as Makeymakeys, physical programming boards (code bug), electronic kits (Snap Circuits and Little Bits), and The Pocket Lab. Students are encouraged to explore and support the hands-on learning that they are engaged in.
Engineering: While science asks “What is the problem?” engineering responds with ” How can we solve the problem?” We are consistently going back and forth between what is the problem and how can we solve it.
Arts: God made a beautiful work of art in his creation and we follow His footsteps as we learn about Him and what He has called us to do.
Math: Math is a foundation to God’s creation and all we are learning.
